We recognise that in a constantly changing environment our selected partners offer us valued services through a complete understanding of our needs and investment requirements. Companies that lack a clear vision of our business needs, are unable to align with us. Poor partners are often caught in their own day to day activities, without consideration of our needs.
We add value to investments by monitoring global trends that impact business situations and the source information, often our business partners. We interrogate their experiences, validate their market positioning , evaluate their management style and observe business execution.
This is at the core of our philosophy. Structural, economic and political change is constantly reshaping industries and companies. Those that are nimble, well resourced and attuned to change are more likely to succeed.
Our analysis is thorough and detailed. We invest in businesses that have a history of being market successful market players.
Research
Short term volatility often needs to be looked through for longer term success. Wider market moves are often part of a trend that significantly impacts the valuation of investments in specific sectors. Todays down turn may turn a corn creating upward momentum. Emotion and stress can impact decision making leading to asset values being distorted. We try to eliminate these business misconceptions by applying a rigorous and disciplined approach in analysing businesses and management teams.
Markets also misprice because investors act irrationally. when combined with poor or reactionary management decisions, structural change, political nuance or miscommunication, value is destroyed. This means that at any one time, the market may not have sufficient vision to determine the true value of a potential asset.
